As a relatively new Chicagoan, the fond descriptions overheard from long-time residents of Chicago's Maxwell Street Market aren't much more than an intangible stories. The only artifact that remains of the famous market is a strip along the side of a Dominicks grocery store on Roosevelt Rd.

From the stories I've heard of the food carts, blues b-sides, and everything-under-the-sun for a dollar, touring the Maxwell Street in Second Life was a truly thrilling experience.
