A Drum Circle in Svarga

Thursday, April 12th, 2007

This is an in-world video of a drum circle happening in Second Life on a simulated island named Svarga.

As exploration of the medium extends, I find that the interaction with others in virtual environments seems every bit as genuine as if the interaction had occurred in real space.

The release of live voice communications over the grid will further strengthen the perception of virtual spaces as veritable RL social spaces. (For anyone anxious to test it out, the voice is currently up and running on the beta grid.)

Collaborative Online Mind-Mapping

Monday, April 9th, 2007

Over the past few weeks, Innowen has written a number of articles on the function and benefits of mindmapping over at DiyP.

Last week I took Bubbl.us for a spin, and found the interface easy to use, and conducive to fast ideation and creative linking.

Thanks to Innowen for the great article and Bubbl.us for the fantastic piece of software.
